Vinicius Jr. is one of the most exciting prospects in world football. He was brought for a staggering €46 million. The second-highest valued Brazilian player ever behind Neymar Jr. The Brazil native initially struggled to find his footing in Real Madrid but has evolved to become their star player.
Vinicius played a very crucial role in the 21/22 UEFA champions league campaign for Real Madrid, his goal being the deciding factor in the final against Liverpool. Vinicius Junior’s name has been uttered in the same breath as the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, the stars of tomorrow.
It is natural that Real Madrid would look to keep their young star player around for a long time. They are setting up a long contract for Vinicius with a massive release clause that could sum up to a billion euros! € 1 billion is an insurmountable amount for any football club in the world!
This was revealed on Twitter by a Real Madrid exclusive news page:

Neymar, who is the most expensive footballer ever is only valued at € 222 million! That is a far cry from the 1 billion that is needed to trigger Vinicius’s potential new release clause. It is safe to say that the 1 billion euro release clause will not be matched by any club ever!
The fans however are very divided in their opinion about the player’s valuation by the club. Should Real Madrid have taken Vinicius’s sudden upturn in form into account and bonded him to such a massive stipulation? Or should they have waited another season to judge the youngster’s consistency?
Although most Real Madrid fans are happy with the club’s evaluation of the player, some fans have gone on to say that the price tag and release clause is massively overrated for such an young athlete. The memory of Vinicius’s terrible first two seasons is still fresh in the minds of the fans!
Vinicius Jr. has definitely improved as a player and that sentiment is shared by Real Madrid, otherwise, they would not have set his release clause as high as € 1 billion! Which is funnily € 300 million more than what Lionel Messi’s release clause was at FC Barcelona.
