Will Breece Hall play against Texans? Reviewing the latest injury report ahead of Jets’ home game

As the New York Jets gear up to take on the Houston Texans, a cloud of injuries looms over their preparation. The recent setback of running back Breece Hall adds to the team’s challenges, amplifying uncertainties revealed in the injury report.

With several key players facing potential game-time decisions, the Jets, who declined to sign Carson Wentz, face a crucial evaluation of their roster’s readiness. The focus intensifies on whether Breece Hall, a significant offensive asset, will be fit to play, amid the impending faceoff between the Jets and the Texans.

Breece Hall remains limited in practice with an ankle injury leading up to Week 14 against the Texans. Despite being limited and appearing on the team’s injury report, there’s optimism that Hall will play against the Texans.

Jets coach Robert Saleh stated on Friday that Hall is dealing with an ankle issue, and the focus is on making him comfortable for gameday.

“He’s dealing with an ankle, it’s just trying to get him comfortable,” Jets coach Robert Saleh explained Friday. “But we feel good about gameday.”

Breece Hall was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, and did not practice on Wednesday due to the ankle injury. On Thursday, Hall personally described his ankle as “fine” and expressed confidence that the injury won’t keep him out of the Texans game.

Even if the RB plays, there’s a chance that veteran Dalvin Cook could have an increased workload, especially considering his performance in the previous game.

In preparation for their Week 14 encounter at MetLife Stadium, both the New York Jets (4-8) and the Houston Texans (7-5) face significant challenges with eight players each listed on their injury reports.

Offensive tackle George Fant, safety Jimmie Ward, linebacker Neville Hewitt, linebacker Denzel Perryman, and defensive end Will Anderson Jr. also carry varying degrees of uncertainty in their availability.

Running back Breece Hall, defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, and offensive tackle Carter Warren are questionable, all contending with ankle and hip injuries. Tight end Tyler Conklin and offensive tackle Mekhi Becton are listed with unknown injuries, further adding to the Jets’ concerns.

As the Texans and Jets prepare for kickoff at 1:00 PM ET on December 10, 2023, the overall health of these players becomes a critical factor in determining the outcome.
