Seth Rollins currently holds the honors of the World Heavyweight Championship in the Stamford-based promotion. The Visionary has successfully defended his Championship on various occasions since winning it at Night of Champions 2023. However, the Champion is once again set to defend the title at the upcoming premium live event, SummerSlam 2023, where he is set to face Finn Balor in a rematch.
Wrestling has been a part of Global and especially American entertainment culture for a long while now. Seth Rollins too grew up watching the very sport he now participates in. Recently he opened up about the figures he looks up to and the ones he does not want to end up like.
Seth Rollins on his favorite WWE stars during childhood
The Visionary recently visited Sneaker Shops With Complex, where he disclosed many things about himself. He talked about his childhood heroes and the superstars he grew up watching. Seth Rollins mentioned that legendary superstars like Triple H, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and Ric Flair were the main wrestlers he admired during his childhood.
He also pointed out a similarity among all these stars during their reign as Champions, they took the title to different cities and even different territories.
The Visionary claimed that he is trying to do the same by defending the title everywhere he goes to make it more prestigious, just like his childhood heroes did in their time.
Seth Rollins claims he does not aim to be like Roman Reigns
Further Rollins also talked about the current Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns and claimed that he doesn’t aim to be like The Tribal Chief. Seth pointed out the difference between the title reign of both the former Shield members. The Visionary further claimed that maybe he got more title defenses than Roman Reigns in the span of 2 months only, stating,
“For me, I grew up watching guys like Triple H, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and all these guys who were champions’ champions. They took the title to every different city, every different territory and they defended it.”
“That’s how the title built prestige. So for me, to follow in their footsteps, I don’t wanna do what Roman’s doing, Roman’s doing what he’s doing and he’s doing it incredible. I ain’t trying to be Roman, I’m trying to be the only thing I know how to be and that’s Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins,” he added.
Overall, both superstars have been at the top of their respective brands. If neither of them loses the title at SummerSlam, fans may witness another clash between the stars at the Survivor Series later this year.
