WWE fans speculate “Carlito’s gonna turn on Rey next” after Rey Mysterio issues bold challenge to Dominik Mysterio, Santos Escobar

After his match against Santos Escobar failed to yield the desired results due to interference from Dirty Dom, Rey Mysterio has issued a challenge in the latest episode of SmackDown. With another opportunity to settle the scores now, fans speculate that things are going to turn sour for the master of 619.

Rey Mysterio was betrayed by Escobar when he broke away from the LWO and formed his own alliance. Now, fans fear that this might not be the end, especially with the presence of another member who has a similar history in the WWE storyline.

Fans believe Carlito will betray Rey Mysterio

There is a theory floating around that Carlito will betray Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 40. This speculation stems from his limited interaction in the storyline and his recent baby-face turn since his return. Even fans are growing weary of the focus solely on Rey Mysterio and his feud with Escobar and Dom.

However, WWE can make things take a 360-degree turn if Carlito turns heel. Another reason could be that Rey Mysterio chose Dragon Lee over Carlito to face Legado del Fantasma. If he was unhappy with it, he could have redemption right during WrestleMania.

Meanwhile, in SmackDown, a new member of LWO was unveiled. This happened midway through Escobar’s promo, when he brought Dirty Dom into the ring and detailed how he beat Rey Mysterio. The founder of LWO and its members soon followed.

This occurred when Dragon Lee was introduced as the newest member, forcing Rey Mysterio to issue a challenge for a tag-team match at WrestleMania. A brawl ensued shortly after, with Carlito removing Dom from the ring. Finally, we saw Dragon Lee leap from the corner, taking out the entire Legado del Fantasma.

The audience rallied behind him, and he made quite an entrance. With an official announcement yet to come from WWE, fans believe this match is imminent. The official WWE handle tweeted Rey Mysterio’s challenge with the caption ‘We need this to happen,’ further confirming this.
