It was a very thrilling night with WWE Fastlane being live from Indianapolis in a show filled with drama and a stacked match card. The excitement for the event was taken to new levels after an explosive ending to SmackDown on Friday.

After recording-breaking ticket sales, which was partially credited to the “John Cena Effect“, there was a lot to look forward to on Fastlane, and it definitely delivered. Wrestling fans all over the world absolutely enjoyed the event.

Fastlane kicked off with the Undisputed Tag-Team Championships on the line, featuring Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes teaming up against Judgement Day. The match was closely contested, and it appeared that Judgement Day might win again due to their numerical advantage.

However, JD McDonagh accidentally struck Damien Priest’s injured knee with the Money in the Bank briefcase, shifting the momentum in favor of the babyfaces. Cody and Jey executed their version of 1D and became the new Undisputed Tag-Team Champions.Following this, Street Profits and Bobby Lashley faced off against LWO, with LWO emerging victorious, thanks to the surprise return of Carlito as Rey and Escobar’s tag-team partner.

Next up was an exciting Triple-Threat match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, in which Iyo Sky retained her title with an assist from Bayley. Finally, John Cena made his highly anticipated return to the wrestling ring, teaming up with LA Knight to take on The Bloodline.

The team of babyfaces picked up the victory which is sure to upset a returning Roman Reigns next week. The Main Event of WWE Fastlane was between Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth Rollins in a Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship. It was one of the best Last Man Standing matches in recent history with many iconic spots and moments. But it was The Architect who stood tall after the 10-second count.

WWE Fastlane had a star-studded lineup of superstars even though there were only 5 matches on the card. This has been a trend since Triple H has taken over the creative reins as his Premium Live Events focus on quality rather than quantity. WWE has also been tapping into the global market with so many PLEs happening outside the US.

It was announced on the WWE Fastlane Pre-Show that the Gainbridge Fieldhouse was sold out with an attendance of 14,520. There were many special appearances throughout the event with Jade Cargill making an appearance at the backstage and with Triple H greeting her.

Pat McAfee made a return to a warm reception from the fans and dropped hints about the possibility of WrestleMania taking place in Indianapolis. He also provided commentary on the match between John Cena and LA Knight as they faced off against The Bloodline. The upcoming week across all three brands is packed with numerous appearances and matches scheduled in the lead-up to Crown Jewel.
