WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, now 50 years old, has been wrestling for almost five decades. While many wrestlers retire at this age, Rey is still active in WWE.
Recently, he talked about retiring and hinted he might stop soon. But he also said the decision won’t be his alone to make.
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio joined Kurt Angle for a watch-along episode, where they discussed many topics, including his retirement plans. Mysterio said that with all the titles he’s won, he could retire tomorrow without any regrets, but he wants the fans to decide when it’s time.
The 50-year old said, “Mysterio said, “I’ll let the fans decide.” Rey shares a strong bond with his fans, and their support will play a big role in his career’s end. If fans want him to retire, WWE will likely plan something huge, just like they’re doing for John Cena.
Since the focus is now on Cena’s retirement, it seems Mysterio’s farewell won’t happen anytime soon.
Tyson Kidd sends birthday wish to Rey Mysterio
On December 11, Rey Mysterio celebrated his 50th birthday, receiving heartfelt wishes from around the world. Among them was a touching message from former WWE Tag Team Champion Tyson Kidd.
On Instagram, Kidd shared, “I’ve never believed in the ‘don’t meet your heroes’ thing, maybe I’ve been lucky enough to pick great heroes 🤣 Happy birthday to truly one of the best people I’ve ever met, someone who had such a heavy influence on my in-ring career @619iamlucha. I use this all the time- @the305mvp said ‘If someone is telling you something bad about Rey, punch them in the face right way. They’re lying!’ Very very grateful for your friendship, Rey.”
