After winning the WWE Elimination Chamber match in 2025, John Cena confirmed his spot for WrestleMania 41, something he couldn’t do at the Royal Rumble, where he finished as a runner-up.
Now that he’s going to WrestleMania, there’s a high possibility that he’ll win the Undisputed Championship by defeating Cody Rhodes, which would break his tie with Ric Flair’s record.
However, It seems like Ric Flair doesn’t want Cena to break his record and become a 17-time champion in WWE.
Ric Flair has hinted at a possible comeback to stop John Cena from breaking his record of 16 world championships. This comes after Cena’s shocking ‘heel’ turn at WWE Elimination Chamber. Flair, who retired in 2022, has always respected Cena but is ready to protect his legacy.

Flair posted a photo with Cena on X, saying, “Let’s Get Serious! @JohnCena, I Love You And Respect You, But You Ain’t Taking Nothing From @CodyRhodes! If I Have To Fight My Way Through Security To Hit The Ring, I Will. I’ll Take The Day Off Of Blood Thinners. LFG! Let’s Do This!”
The 76-year-old isn’t with AEW anymore, so a return to WWE to stop Cena from breaking his record at WrestleMania seems likely.
CM Punk also addresses John Cena on WWE Raw
In the recent episode of WWE Raw, CM Punk took the spotlight to call out John Cena after the shocking events at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025. The show, held at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York, featured Punk giving a strong speech aimed at Cena and The Rock.
During his speech, Punk accused Cena of tricking the fans and said Cena had taken the match away from him. He shared his frustration with how Cena, like a “Mr. Midlife Crisis,” came out and destroyed Punk’s first chance to make it to the WrestleMania main event.
