Fans were excited about a possible showdown between Goldberg and GUNTHER ever since WWE Bad Blood 2024. Given Goldberg’s history with Saudi Arabia events, many believed WWE would eventually set up a retirement match for him against GUNTHER.
However, recent reports suggest that those plans are no longer in the works. Fans were really disappointed because Triple H once again ruined what could have been an exciting buildup.
At WWE Bad Blood 2024, Goldberg was in the crowd with his family when GUNTHER entered the ring for a segment with Triple H. GUNTHER mocked ‘the Iconic’, leading to a heated moment before security stepped in.

Fans believe Triple H should book this match for a big WWE event. However, reports now say it’s not happening. PWN’s Viper and Masked J revealed that the dream match was planned for WrestleMania 41, but Jey Uso’s Royal Rumble win changed everything.
There’s still hope for 2025, with SummerSlam or Crown Jewel as possible locations. The news is a relief, as the 58-year-old believes he has one last match left and is preparing for it.
