WWE SmackDown: match card, venue, confirmed appearances ahead of WWE Fastlane

WWE SmackDown has been on a hot run lately even in the absence of WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The ratings definitely received a boost after John Cena started appearing on weekly television after years.

John Cena’s return to the WWE has meant great numbers for the company with Fastlane sold out. With a stacked roster and upcoming talents like Grayson Waller, The Street Profits with Bobby Lashley, and Iyo Sky, it’s arguably the A-show. WWE recently revealed information about WWE SmackDown’s match card for tonight.

Reviewing the advertised WWE SmackDown card

WWE SmackDown has been delivering on a weekly basis with The Bloodline ruling the blue brand. The show has been elevated with tons of new storylines like Iyo Sky’s rise to the top, Grayson Waller’s debut year, and the teaming up of Street Profits with ‘The Almighty’ Bobby Lashley. There have been some confirmed matches and appearances announced for tonight’s show.

John Cena will appear on SmackDown again after it was announced that he’d be teaming up with LA Knight to go up against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. We’ll also see more of Judgement Day on SmackDown as the Undisputed Tag Team Champions after they last appeared on the blue brand when they attacked AJ Styles and delivered him to The Bloodline.

Following the aftermath of LWO and Street Profits’ face-off last week, Bobby Lashley is set to go against United States Champion Rey Mysterio in a non-title match. Former tag-team champions and rivals, Asuka and Charlotte will team up against Damage CTRL’s Bayley and Champion Iyo Sky before the triple-threat match for the Women’s Championship at Fastlane.

WWE HOFer teases “Tribal War”

Bloodline started getting cracks after Sami Zayn left them at Royal Rumble 2023, which led to the eventual loss of The Usos, who were the longest reigning tag-team champs of all time. The Usos would betray Roman Reigns at Night of Champions and would go on to win the Bloodline Civil War, where Roman Reigns was pinned by Jey Uso for the first time in over 3 years.

“Main Event” Jey Uso returned with a bang after Roman and Solo injured Jimmy, which led to the Tribal Combat match at SummerSlam, where Jey was betrayed by a returning Jimmy Uso. Jey and The Bloodline went their separate ways after the incident, with Jey joining RAW after Cody Rhodes announced a trade at Payback.

It was rumored that Rikishi would appear sometime during the Bloodline Civil War storyline but it never materialized. But the WWE Hall of Famer recently teased a return and “Tribal War” with a post on Instagram.

What will be the outcome of The Bloodline saga? Discuss in the comments.
