However, the role that is generating the most buzz among wrestling fans is that of John Cena.
While it was clear from the beginning that the 16-time WWE world champion would play a significant part in the Barbie movie, his character remained a mystery for several weeks. Warner Bros. has now revealed that Cena will portray the role of a merman Ken in the film, hinting that he may have a romantic connection with the pop star Dua Lipa, who plays a mermaid Barbie.
The latest footage of the upcoming movie Barbie, which was presented at CinemaCon on April 25, offered a glimpse into the reason behind the conflict between the Barbies and Kens, as well as unveiling Cena’s character. The footage confirmed that fans can expect to see Cena as the king of the ocean, with long blonde hair and a baby pink flared shirt.

Dua Lipa’s Barbie will be dressed in a blue gown with long royal blue hair, which complements Cena’s baby-pink and blond look. The singing sensation also sings the theme song of the movie, a cover of the famous song “Barbie Girl” by Aqua.
Although Cena’s character was kept under wraps, his absence from the movie’s promotional posters raised eyebrows among fans. However, with his mystery character now revealed, it appears that everything was part of the plan.
Margot Robbie, the lead actress in the movie, has previously worked with Cena, making their collaboration in Barbie all the more exciting. With a budget of $100 million, Barbie is set to be one of the biggest movie releases of 2023.
