WWE fans are the most important part of WWE programming. This could be understood when WWE had to produce their weekly shows from the Thunderdome when the whole world was shaken by the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans were unable to attend events, which resulted in a lack of energy in the shows.
The fans at ringside usually get to interact with their favorite WWE superstars. Although tight security is provided by WWE to keep the fans behind the barricade, sometimes fans jump over them to physically interact with the superstars. A disturbing scene took place on RAW a year ago when Seth “Freakin” Rollins was jumped by a bystander in the crowd.
Seth Rollins once violently attacked by a WWE fan
On a Monday-Night RAW episode, Seth was scheduled to go one-on-one with Finn Bálor. However, Seth being a heel, attacked him in a pre-match assault. Following this beatdown, when Seth was heading backstage, he was jumped by a member of the WWE Universe. The referee rushed in to protect Seth from the attacker and it’s good that he didn’t receive any injury. The incident quickly caught the eyes of the crowd as security took away the attacker.
Fortunately, Seth Rollins walked out unscathed, as he immediately grabbed the attacker in a headlock. This incident proved to be a kind of horrific scene and raised questions on WWE’s security control. The way that Seth was attacked could have been a fatal attack had he not been able to fight back. Initially, Seth sure felt scared and furious over the attacker but realized that something was wrong with him.
Seth Rollins reveals the truth behind WWE fan attacking him in New York
The incident was later discussed by Seth Rollins himself, portraying his views. Seth recently appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast and discussed a lot of things including the attack incident. “The Architecht” revealed that the attacker was potentially mentally disturbed and he was catfished by a person being Seth on the internet. This cost the attacker money and disbelief as he charged his attack on Rollins.
After being caught by the secular, the attacker apologized to the WWE following the attack and stated that he tried to ambush Seth as he was a big fan of Finn and accused Seth of asking him to become his blogger and buy him gift cards in exchange. To date, there hasn’t been one piece of evidence that proves his statement. Although Seth was emotional about him, he has asked the management to ban him from any future WWE events.
Considering that WWE superstars walk between strange groups of crowds every week, their security should be the top priority. What do you think of this unwanted incident? Make sure to let us know in the comments section.
